Hi, I'm Phoebe Kitanidis. I'm an author who lives in Seattle, Washington. My teen novel WHISPER was published by Harper Collins in May of 2010.

More about me: I live with the love of my life (known around these parts as jrpseudonym), and a grey cat named Myst. Surrounded by about a trillion books, games, gaming books, and other signs of hardcore nerd-dom.

On the Meyers-Briggs, I score INFJ. But the I (for introvert) is weak. Really, I'm more of a rapidly cycling ambivert.

My #1 passion is Communication. I like it so much, I wanted to cut it open and take it apart to see what made it work. So I studied it formally, earning a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and a Masters from San Jose State University. I love speaking about interpersonal communication issues. As a former writing and Language Arts teacher, I'm also comfortable speaking in classrooms about books and writing.

In addition to WHISPER, I'm the author of the Discovery Girls book FAB GIRLS GUIDE TO FRIENDSHIP HARDSHIP as well as dozens of articles for tweens, teens, and parents. Represented by Dystel and Goderich Literary Management. Member of SCBWII, Broad Universe, and The Tenners.

My second teen novel SUMMER FALLS, will be out in 2011.

some fine print:

Friending Policy:

Feel free to add my journal to your flist. You don't have to write me a note to introduce yourself, unless you feel like it.

Policy on reading manuscripts:

For legal, ethical, and time-constraint reasons I cannot read ANY pre-published manuscripts. I recommend you find a good critique partner--they are worth their weight in gold, and you'll learn even more more from critiquing their work from them looking at yours. Really.
